Food Allergen Disclosure

Important: Please review this information carefully. If you have any food allergies or dietary concerns, notify us at the time of booking.

1. Major Allergens

Gather & Plate Catering uses the following major allergens in our kitchen. Foods containing these allergens may be prepared in shared spaces:

  • Milk/Dairy: Present in many dishes, sauces, and desserts
  • Eggs: Used in baking, custards, and some sauces
  • Fish: May be present in seafood dishes and some sauces
  • Shellfish: Present in seafood dishes and broths
  • Tree Nuts: Used in sauces, desserts, and garnishes
  • Peanuts: May be present in Asian-inspired dishes
  • Wheat/Gluten: Present in breads, pasta, and many prepared items
  • Soybeans/Soy: Present in some sauces and marinades

2. Cross-Contamination Protocols

While we take precautions to prevent cross-contamination, our kitchens are shared facilities where allergens may be present. We cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment. If you have a severe or life-threatening allergy, we must discuss special arrangements during the booking process.

Special accommodations may include:

  • Dedicated prep areas and utensils
  • Separate cooking equipment
  • Enhanced cleaning protocols
  • Additional fees may apply

3. Ingredient Sourcing

We source ingredients from trusted suppliers. All ingredients are carefully tracked and documented. We maintain records of allergen information for all items used in our catering. If you need detailed allergen information about specific dishes, please request this during the booking process.

4. Menu Modifications for Allergies

We offer menu modifications to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions. Requests must be made at the time of booking and confirmed in writing at least 21 days before your event. Last-minute changes may not be possible and could result in additional charges.

5. Disclosure Requirements

You must disclose all food allergies and dietary restrictions when booking. Failure to disclose known allergies relieves Gather & Plate Catering of liability for allergic reactions. If additional guests with allergies arrive at your event without prior notice, we may not be able to accommodate them.

6. Staff Training

All our staff members are trained in food allergen handling and can answer questions about ingredients. Staff can identify which dishes contain specific allergens, though detailed allergen analysis should be confirmed before the event.

7. Vegetarian & Vegan Options

We offer vegetarian and vegan menu options. Vegetarian items may still contain dairy, eggs, or other animal-derived ingredients. Vegan options are prepared to exclude all animal products, though cross-contamination is possible in our kitchens.

8. Gluten-Free Options

We offer gluten-free menu items and can accommodate gluten-free diets. Gluten-free items are prepared separately using dedicated equipment when possible. However, we cannot guarantee a completely gluten-free environment.

9. Religious & Cultural Dietary Requirements

We respect dietary requirements based on religious beliefs and cultural practices including Kosher, Halal, and other traditions. Please discuss specific requirements during the booking process so we can ensure proper accommodation.

10. Liability Waiver

Guests assume all risk associated with consuming food from Gather & Plate Catering. Gather & Plate Catering is not liable for allergic reactions if the client failed to disclose allergies at the time of booking. We recommend keeping emergency medications (EpiPens) available at your event.
